My last thread here a few weeks ago I was livid because I sent Bookmaker a deposit but the blockchain was running slow and my money wasn’t received in time to place what I wanted to bet. Would’ve cleaned up. I don’t remember the exact plays but it was HR parlays involving Judge and Ohtani and some other players. All bets would’ve cashed. I played that deposit out and haven’t made a bet since.

I’m done. The joy is gone. Don’t even miss it. First time in 35 years I don’t even think about it. In the past that would’ve been impossible. Don’t think I’ve ever gone two days without placing a bet. I check the soccer scores throughout the day and get zero urge to be in action.

Here’s the reason for the thread. Buddy asks me yesterday who I like in the Derby. Zero research, know nothing about any of the horses. Take a look at the entries and zero right in on Golden Tempo. Reason I picked him was post position. For some reason I thought 18-19-20 wins a lot. Checked last night after race, turns out it doesn’t. If I was still gambling I either don’t bet him, even after deciding I liked him, or he doesn’t win. Post time would come and I’d bet the favorite.

Anyone out there struggling with the addiction, there will be a day where the joy will be gone and an off ramp will appear. Don’t pass the exit. Haven’t felt this good in 35 years. Best of luck fellas. Nice knowing all of you.

Good post Rickey.
It's good that you have positive feeling about exiting Rickey.
Many people don't realize when they should be taking a break or quitting all together.

OK RP. solid post. sometimes you have to know when to back the F off or quit entirely. I had to do it with drinking many years ago. Best decision I ever made. Question for you. Will you still watch sports? One key is don't check the lines. BOL

It’s the same more bullshit we say the same line all the time gamblers across the world when we quit it feels so good. I’m a new man. I can’t believe I ever gambled two weeks later. We all post up again unless we’re in treatment programs.

@rickeyphillips your a good dude take a break.... breathe.. Go and tap some ass my brother. This game can be real brutal man... The highs the lows and everything else. In this game you literally have no chance to make money if you are only parlaying all your bets. Can you get a big parlay and win sure you can. But listen go back to your last 20 parlays and how many have you won? The only way to really try to win in this game is one play at at time betting straight only. It's a grind but it's definitely possible. And even that's hard with no discipline. Only bet what you can afford to lose. And when you win you also have to have some discipline from tweeking out or raising your bet amount just cause you like a certain play a lot. I hope the best for you and I hope to still see you around the board here man. Keep your head up. 👊

Five weeks, not a single bet, don’t even think about it, don’t even care. Banged around for 35 years betting the games daily. No one was sicker than me. Consumed me 24-7-365. Think my mind finally woke up and checked out. I’ll check back in in six months. Good luck f aggots. Keep chucking them darts losing your $600 weekly paycheck before 4pm on Saturday.
