Buddy of mine has used to work with for years was from Bakersfield. He yearned for the Cali fish tacos. Talked about them all the time.

We found a pretty good place (actually that water ski resort on the right side of 35 between San Marcos and New Braunfels when they had a restaurant up there). He’d get fish tacos and I’d get blackened shrimp.

He said they were damn good but still no where close to Cali fish tacos.

Yes. Very good. We used to drive to Lockhart for Kreuz and Black’s before Black’s opened in NB and SM

Fish tacos were never my go-to, but thanks for the info, Jay.

There is one person in my posse that loved Del Taco fish tacos so they might like these ski resort tacos.

This is it. You’d never know they had a great bar and restaurant on the second floor. Guess that’s why it didn’t do to well. We used to go there at least once a week. Once we went in and they totally changed the menu to higher/end stuff and nixed the tacos we liked so we stopped going. Not sure it stayed open

You could really taste the spice. That's why even a 4/10 was hot. I could barely finish it. As a matter of fact I didn't finish it. Ate most of it but after a while it just became too hot
