I hope you get a lot of responses JJ.
I am very curous about Starlink.

When we retire (soon), we're looking at buying a small camper and will have to use Starlink while traveling.

if I was a digital nomad who traveled more I would definitely look into Starlink but being I’m home a lot regular Internet works just fine for me

The one thing holding me back, the price seems high for the lower speed

I know you are just anti-semite baiting here. If you are even looking into starlink that means it is most likely your only option. TF are you talking about "regular providers" all satelite internet is overpriced. I was in the industry for years. I get these east coast relics calling first thing in the AM, we got absolutely no commission off of it was well, knowing what I know now, I would have taken the conversion % hit just so a couple of JJs buddies had to go without internet and trust me they would have. I did them a favor talking them into it and they knew it.

It’s my backup (need Internet for work and if my provider goes down - the next best option is driving an hour to the office).

I wouldn’t drop fiber for it - especially if I lived in a highly congested area.

At the same time - it’s $5 a month now and unlimited low speed - if you have a location where speed is not a factor - just want to check email or run a security cam - the price is unbeatable.

Regular speed unlimited is $100 I think - more for high congestion areas. Is it worth it - well if it’s that or nothing - I’d say so.

Mobile kit is like $185 a month - but again if you want the nomad lifestyle- it’s a small price to pay for not seeking out a coffee shop daily and having to park a motorhome in a Starbucks lot.

I considered it for a mobile trading station, but not quite ready for that.

The office will do just fine for now.
