Coach K was at Duke for 42 seasons.

He won 5 National Championships in that time.

That's one of the top programs in the last generation. Droughts weren't huge because he won 5, but you can only imagine what happens to teams that aren't top in their generation.

Plenty of top conference and perrenial top tier teams that are in big droughts.
