Actually one of PF’s conspiracies I agree with - or at least agree it wasn’t a suicide.

I don’t believe his wife had anything to do with it.

It was Cobain and his buddy fcking around while using heroin. Could have been manslaughter - could have been Cobain playing with the gun. But suicide placing a shotgun under your head and pulling the trigger is just a tough task for most.


Stock is 14” and trigger is another 10-12” down. So roughly 26” or so - doesn’t sound that long - but try doing it with a yardstick and put a 10# weight on the end. It’s not exactly easy to control and when you pull that trigger it’s naturally going to kick AWAY from you - not blast directly at your face - but deliver more of a glancing blow.

This was an old 16 gauge - not some lightweight gun. Anyone’s who’s ever hunted with them knows what I mean about weight and balance about these things.

Either buddy was playing and accidentally (or purposely) fired hitting him - or Cobain dropped/slammed the gun down on the floor while loaded and experienced an accidental discharge (Remingtons were infamous for this in the 70s/80s - but older models had the same issue as the design is basically the same - just cheaper mechanisms were introduced post 1960s and the increasing use of laborers vs true craftsmanship post ‘64 saw a marked decrease in quality).

It’s sad and no one will ever know the truth - but generally someone does not commit suicide with another in the room with them - statistically.

Yeah sadly he passed way to young. Best grunge band to ever play. After Kurt's death Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl formed the Foo Fighters in Seattle in 1995 transitioning from a one-man project into a successful, long-running rock band.

Where was it found ?

How is it not possible he both wanted to die AND had someone shoot him ? He had a failed attempt previously in Rome - suicide is not something you want to fail at multiple times. Maybe he thought give his dealer a few bucks and make sure it was a success.

Or could have just been a past note he had written - dude was a junkie with depression. He wrote things like this all the time and finding it amongst his writings may have been coincidental.
