He was a Farm Machinery salesman until he retired. Then he focused on his hobby of wood working.

He had a massive garage that held every wood working tool/machine you could think of. He built hundreds of pieces of furniture (dressers, vanity, bed, tables, etc...) over the years. Most were made of cherry, walnut, or oak. Really nice stuff. He'd take them to contests and the State Fair and won a few prizes for his furniture. Never sold anything. Just made stuff for his kids and grandkids.

Everyone in our family has 1 or more pieces made by him.
