I like this move.The Niners problems on defense stem from their defensive lines inability to get pressure on the QB. Now you can't double team Bosa so hopefully this frees him up to get more sacks. Their secondary has been getting roasted because the line isn't getting to the QB so that makes me like this even more.

I loved him at Ohio State, he was a game-changer there

It makes the Niners better overall

14 career sacks and 19 tackles for loss and 26 total quarterback hits in 4 years as the #2 overall pick.

I’d say much, much more was expected as the Bednarick and Nagurski winner in college.

But agree Washington is a franchise that’s been lost for 25 years so hard for anyone to thrive there

Last I’m going to say. Chase Young not worth a debate.

I stand by my statement anyone drafting a player of Chase Young’s caliber in college number two overall would expect better career production in the middle of year four.

You saw him play in college a lot more than I did. When I saw him play my thoughts were “This guy is going to be a flat out game-changing stud in the NFL.”

Many teams, including Washington I’m sure, and scouts had him graded as such. And he just hasn’t been close to that so far

I’d take Fred’s 2023 impact on his team so far this year all day over Chase.

But this is honestly a silly argument and I’m about to take my Godson trick or treating so it’s one I’m finished with.

I stand by my above statements about what anyone would expect drafting a player like Young 3.5 years in #2 overall ahead of the likes of touted QBs Herbert and Tua (especially for such a QB starved franchise).

Hope he stays healthy and continues to improve and show that incredible potential on 49ers (except vs Cowboys in playoffs).

Sacks aren’t the end all be all for evaluating pass rushers. Guy wreaks havoc on opposing offensive lines

Two offensive linemen have to take him usually, and the rest of the line has been so bad that they can do that without hesitation
