As @Jrgum3 mentioned in his picks thread: it doesn't look good so far.

It’s almost as if the man sitting in a suit on the bench DOES NOT matter in professional basketball.

Imagine that - grown ass men who live a life of doing whatever the hell they want NOT needing/listening to someone else just because they are in a position of “authority”.

He got the job because they recognized there was a problem with the team - who despite winning showed no signs of actuallly playing as a team - just playing individually and winning despite. Did anyone think he was going to come in and scare these millionaires straight ? Feels a lot like David Blatt in Cleveland - except Blatt was a respected coach with knowledge of the game and ability to improve play.

Doc on the other hand is respected as a player who had good insight to the game when he played - but he isn’t great at the modern NBA. Knowing how the game was played doesn’t help with the modern game. Same goal of course - but played differently and having a team play your game only works when you can gain 100% buy in and do it successfully.

They will make playoffs of course - probably win a round maybe 2 - but when the end result falls short of finals - he will be dismissed and some new sucker will take the job.

Honestly you are right dj it matters much less in basketball

it’s the one team sport in which if have the superstars or stars, you just get out of the way and let them do their thing

So, with that being said, if the the Bucks continue to get worse under Doc Rivers, that will emphasize how bad he really is

Adrian Griffin sitting at home, still getting paid, laughing his a$$ off.

As he should

That was probably the worst hire in the history of basketball

There are worse I’m sure - Mike Brown to me a guy who manages to get a lot of credit - by doing nothing more than exactly as suggested - walking into a talented locker room and letting guys play. I mean - he’s good - he doesn’t try to upstage the talent like some big name college coaches coming to the NBA like to try and do - but reality is any of us could have coached his teams to above a .500 record tooz

Again - look at the list of college coaches lured to the pros with big money and who flamed out. There are your worst hires ever - this one is just bad by comparison.

The Bucks still can't play defense. I think Pat Beverley helps them somewhat but they're going to have trouble guarding good teams in the playoffs and I think that will ultimately cause them to fall short of their goals.
