Betrophy confiscated €18,600 – cashback terms applied retroactively?

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for advice and visibility regarding a serious issue with the bookmaker Betrophy.
Timeline of events:
18.03 – I placed a bet at 14:38 using my own deposited funds.
18.03 – At 15:19, I received a cashback bonus of €140.
I continued betting using both my original balance and the cashback.
I was able to withdraw €1,400 (which matches the 10x cashback withdrawal limit).
On 01.04 – during a withdrawal review, Betrophy confiscated €18,600 from my remaining balance.
Betrophy’s reasoning: They claim I violated bonus terms. However, these terms were only enforced later during withdrawal processing.
My concerns:
The bet was placed before the cashback was credited, so it should not fall under bonus restrictions.
The bonus was applied after my initial activity, yet all gameplay was treated as bonus-related.
The rules were not clearly enforced or communicated at the time of betting.
The confiscation happened only after I requested a withdrawal.
What I’m asking:
Has anyone experienced something similar with Betrophy?
Are these practices considered standard or fair?
Any advice on how to escalate this further?
I have full documentation (timestamps, bet history, emails) and can provide it if needed.

Quick update:

I have now contacted AskGamblers as well, since Betrophy is not listed in their complaint system. I am currently waiting for their response.

The issue is still unresolved — the operator has reduced my balance by approximately €18,600 during the withdrawal review, referring to bonus terms that were only applied afterwards.

Given the amount involved (around €20,000 total), I would really appreciate any advice or if anyone has had similar experiences with this operator.
