Great question....

I think they have $$$. They have huge alumni donors that give to the major sports. I mean HUGE. Several officers and former CEOs from John Deere, Cargill, Pioneer, etc.... graduated from Iowa State so I doubt it's a money issue. They came up with big $$$ to keep Campbell at ISU several times over the last decade (until this year).
