Takes a lot of screen time to get that intuition Gold.

Small cap momentum trading is still where it's at but you need to be attacking the pre market early hours.

That's like 4 am for us on the west coast.

Futures are pretty good too.

A lot of liquidity there, but you have to be careful when leveraged.

Not doing much of that anymore.... Requires too much time to stay on top of it.

Just pay for an advisor to take care of it. Yeah, I know... giving up money having someone manage it but, its a s#itload easier that way. Market is down 6% and my accounts are down 3.5%. As long as they beat the market by more than their commission, I'll stick with them.

JJ invest in the Braves tonight.

Need answers

I lose anything I do in life

Trading bankroll now down 45%
Sorry but I need to vent here coach.

Oh wow, a 45% drawdown on your trading bankroll ? Groundbreaking, clearly the universe has singled you out as the one guy who can’t catch a break, must be exhausting being the main character in the tragedy of “I lose at everything.”

Congrats on turning a potential learning experience your whole life into a full-blown victim blame. Keep that energy I’m sure the next all-in will finally be the one that sticks. What’s the plan, double down or just blame the charts for existing ? (Damn I’m starting to sound like KVB).

Buy Hawaiian Electric (stock symbol HE) and be prepared to hold it for at least five years.

You're talking investing.

Gold is talking about trading.

They are not the same.

Wildfires in Hawaii for which they were blamed, it tanked just like PG&E did after they were blamed for wildfires in Cali. HE is an indigenous-owned company and I figure that the indigenous heavy Hawaiian government isn't going to let their own peoples' company go under, they'll find a way to pull strings to keep it prosperous. I bought it at 11.92 around Aug/Sep 2023, I believe.

Funny you mention this particular stock - can remember the old man holding slot of it around 1988. Broker touted it and the high yield - a hurricane came through and destroyed the infrastructure and cost them a bundle.

It’s a decent long term buy - but like most dividend stocks your buying and holding.

Trading not my thing - I like simple and something I can sell a covered call on - make a little income day to day on options and not worry about stuff dropping 25% in a day. Mainly hold SPY a little IMW and XLE.

With the cash I generate - I put 50% into stocks and 50% into cash in high yield savings. Right now I’m buying LNG anytime it’s under 280 and CRWV anytime it’s under 75. Otherwise it all goes to big energy as hard to pass on potential upside and a dividend. Oil isn’t going under 80 any time soon - so expect some strong profits from the intergrated names that both produce crude and refine. NatGas at $3 is profitable still for a lot of these companies - right now some names could make it selling gas at $2.

Want a speculative name - Blue Owl (owl)

Good company and beaten down badly on over hyped fears. Buy and hold for 3 years.

Carlyle Group too

Or try the fertilizer companies - everyone thinks they will be killed by higher raw material prices. Scott’s (SMG) another good name to hold.

oil going crazy
Coins finished

Over reactions on both counts.

Buy when others sell - sell when others are buying as they say.

Edit to add something an old cowboy once told me - no matter how smart or clever you are - you will never outsmart a stampeding heard”. When everyone else is selling - be cautious with buying. You might be right - but you can only buy so much and as long as others are selling - it’s tough to make money as everyone else is losing and dragging you down with them.

Remember the days after the Covid lockdown when oil was NEGATIVE on futures as no one had room to store it? Literally people got paid to take contracts. Funny how stupid people can be at times.
