I'm actually glad my Giants didn't try to trade for Ohtani. His asking price is too rich for what probably would amount to a 2 month rental. The Angels probably aren't going to be able to resign him but I understand why they didn't trade him. The GM would have been run out of town if he traded Shohei so instead they're going for the playoffs and I can actually see them making it since they kept Ohtani. It's a tough spot to be in if you're the Angels but I think this is their best shot to win which would've gone out the window if they dealt Ohtani.
