Why wasn't anyone criminally charged in Brandon Lee's death?
"North Carolina law requires criminal negligence to be “willful and wanton” and Spivey said at the time he could find no evidence of that during the investigation.“Who are you going to charge? The guy who made the blanks? The guy who allowed live ammo to be on set? Who do you charge?” Spivey told USA TODAY. “There was a lot of negligence on the part of a lot of people, and that’s why we decided there was no basis for a criminal charge.”
Lee was shot over 30 years ago and the thoughts of handgun safety have changed dramatically over that time. It's hard to believe anybody would have live rounds anywhere near a movie set though.
I was watching one of the cop shows on TV recently and the handguns the actors were using were so obliviously props they didn't look anything like a real weapon.

definitely couldve kept his mouth shut but hes probably panicking
The “gang” was apparently target practicing with live ammo somewhere on the property with the vintage gun. That somehow caused a live round to either still be in the revolver or mixed in with the blank rounds. I heard that story very early on, but have not heard or read that again recently.

i still don't get why they would target practice with a gun being used as a prop....could've been easily avoided if they didn't do that

Spider bite incident[edit]
In November 2021, weeks after the shooting incident, lamp operator and pipe rigger Jason Miller was bitten in the arm by a brown recluse spider while closing the set. Miller suffered necrosis and sepsis. He was hospitalized and underwent multiple surgeries to avoid amputation of his arm.[20][21][22] It was reported by TMZ that Miller would not need an amputation.[23][better source needed]OMG, I didn't know there was also a spider bite incident. I guess this is a sign that they need to cancel this movie.

Baldwin and a low budget flop doesn't rate a big screen for me. Gotta think the bad publicity will boost the movie's final intake though, if they ever release it.
I'd pay $5.99 to watch it on cable just to see the Colt .44 single action revolver.
Maybe Baldwin can get out on work release to finish it.

Baldwin's prop was a .45 not a .44, my mistake. Lots of difference in the recoil.
Accidental discharge testing determined that the firearm used in the shooting -- a .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver -- could not have fired without the trigger being pulled, the FBI report shows.
With the hammer in the quarter- and half-cock positions, the gun "could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger," the report stated.
