It makes sense though because they are more prone to being flat while the teams that have played have a game under their belt so they might be more sharp to start the game. However, I think today that ends and Georgia wins against Ole Miss and although I didn't take a side in the Texas Tech game I lean Tech because of their defense. In the Indiana game I took the +7.5 with Bama because I expect a close game but it would shock me if Indiana was unprepared for this one because I think their so well coached that rust won't be a factor.

In the BCS era I remember Ohio State having like 51 days off one year

25 days is a lot of time but shouldn’t be a huge factor. That’s what it was in the 4 team playoff (or about), though it was constant for everyone.

Last year the seeding was just awful because of the conference championship requirements

Would be surprised if the lower seeds win all 4 games, but we could be getting halfway there

The bigger problem with the format is the teams with byes should be playing these games in their home stadiums

Should be neutral field starting with the semifinals

That won’t happen because of college football’s weird obsession with bowl games

If the format were the same as last year, Tulane would’ve had a bye

Yep

If format were the same as last year Ohio State this year would’ve hosted James Madison as the 4 said the played Tulane on a neutral field

That’s probably better than a neutral field bye
