You get a young QB & pair him with a young offensive coordinator/ HC and run it for 5 years.
Even if they gave Darnold a shot, you'd pair him with Kellen Moore or an Andy Reid disciple.

That’s what’s so confusing. Ben Johnson would have seemed like a Brady pick, Pete Carroll seems more like a Mark Davis pick. Pete put his name back out there a few weeks ago when no one was considering ANY 70+ year old coaches. Only a Maverick would hire someone with a predetermined end date. A 3 year deal for Pete is a life sentence. I don’t believe Brady wants to keep losing and hiring coaches under his watch. Maybe Brady has zero pull in the building. There is nothing even X’s and O’s about this hire. Pete is a motivator not a schemer. Maybe the Raiders are going to be a rah rah college team.
Would love to get the players take on Carroll being hired. Of course, they probably have to keep quite and tow the company line so that likely won't happen.
Reports said talks with Johnson broke down after he said he wanted to choose his own GM and then Brady said the GM is my guy and that's when Johnson said see ya later.
