Print media died around the same time gambling forums did.

Now they exist just to fill dentist and doctors offices with reading material and to advertise meds to boomers who still subscribe.

Everyone else has moved to Social Media and Podcast - by the time it hits print - it’s old news.

SI dead

Just like The Sporting News, Sport magazine and so many other great sports publications before them.

Pretty soon we will be mourning the loss of ESPN - 20 years from now cable tv will be next to go - it will be all streaming.

If leagues are smart - they develop their own programming/media to build interest - partner up with places like Fanatics to build a top to bottom experience. You watch the games on their network - you pre game with their shows and you are fed ads to buy tickets/merchandise and experiences via their content.

How long until leagues are in bed with the books - sharing inside info on games as part of their “partnership”? (It of course happens - but just rogue people in organizations and the league as a whole supporting it).

Yeah, I posted this in Eye Candy yesterday.

Could be the end of an era, after 70 years.

Like I said in Eye Candy...

Never Forget...

Like @DiggityDaggityDo mentioned in a post, when he named some models.

There were some golden years in there for many of us.

Thing is 2-3 generations of people can say that same thing.

End of an era.

It could still be saved though, we’ll see. The business news isn’t finished here.
