Ok so here we go with the 1st real match up of the NCAA tourney. From a numbers standpoint Pittsburgh does everything better than Mississippi State as far as Fg’s, Ft’s & 3 pt Fg’s. I know the SEC is considerably better than the ACC as a conference this year. So the numbers can be a little misleading.

The only thing that worries me is Mississippi State’s pressure with their defense. They are one of the better defensive teams in the tournament, but I feel like it won’t matter. I’m taking the better team on a neutral court @ plus odds.

I'll ignore the Duke game because Duke is playing lights out. Aside from that, Pitt has been inconsistent lately. 4-6 ATS in last 10. They beat G. Tech but it was a relatively close game against a bad team. They played a very good Miami tight prior to that and played very well. Before that they lost to a horrible Notre Dame team. Up, down, up, down.... Tough to feel good about them.

BUT... As you point out Miss St. D is good. I mean really good (#6 Def Efficiency on KenPom). Miss St. offense is horrendous. They are the worst 3 pt shooting team in NCAA. They are also in the bottom 10% of Field Goal efficiency.

I'd agree you are on the right side of this one but Pitt's inconsitency scares me off. GL on the play.
