Probably some giant favorite where liquidity is low or maybe a market makerhas it locked up. It's not a sport book so there really isn't "juice" in that sense.
If he wants a better price put in for it, or get up earlier in the day and bet there for it.
There are square ways to pay a lot in commission for sure, same as a sport book.
I'd only pay like that if I'm bailing from a position LIVE.
I picked up a limit order in the WNBA, buying on the dip, and paid 0.84% commission, that's less than 1% giving me room to get out of the trade for al little more commission if I have to.

A big difference between professionals and non, professionals don't worry about that width, the juice a book charges, or any of it, they worry about getting an acceptable number.
They worry about getting the number they want.,
