New York Jets
Jets win total: 5.5 (+100 over, -120 under)
This is another win total I think the books got about right in lining. I think they are going to win right around this number. I do think there is going to be a little bit more continuity this season with the coaching staff. And I think Geno Smith, as flawed of a quarterback as he is, is at least a veteran who may be able to pop off a few games and make this team have a least a little bit more juice. But the roster all the way around is still just not that good.
I also don't love their schedule as much as I thought I would. Winning in Week 1 at Tennessee is doable, but then you have 3 NFC North teams right off the bat (including 2 on the road). Sometimes early in the season is when you want to face the perceived stronger teams before they figure some things out, but by contrast a home game against the Jets could be "correction" games for teams like the Lions or Bears if they fumble in the first 2-3 weeks. They do have the Raiders and Browns at home, and of course their divisional games with the Dolphins. So there are a few opportunities to bag some wins, and like I said with a volatile guy like Geno they could steal a game or two.
But the roster just isn't there, and I think the fact that they brought Geno in makes me think this team is again signaling to the next draft in 2027.
I don't love the juice to the under, but I think this team will win right around 5 games if I had to guess. So I'm going to go that way
Verdict: Jets UNDER 5.5 wins -120
