So I was watching the Sassuolo/Atalanta Italian Serie A game this morning when I noticed something.

I had the game on TV but I noticed that on one of my football apps in my phone, the app would get the score way ahead of what was on my TV.

I thought that's crazy my app is way ahead of my TV. I'm talking way ahead.

I thought if it's that far ahead of my TV, I wonder if I could use it to Live Bet the over/under on my phone ahead of the book apps.

I'm going to test this tomorrow during the last Serie A games of this weekend.

I understand I'll have to be on the books app and I'll have to have lightning fast reaction to get the bet in, but it just might work.

TV's are way behind anyway.

The delay is ridiculous. Some streams are slower, or get slowed, but TV is waaaaay slow.

It's literally on a delay.

Don't get too excited because something is faster than the TV.

This is what I’ve noticed.

YouTube TV is constantly 45-60 seconds behind. Sometimes a little less.

Sometimes I’ll actually watch the ML feed on a live betting platform to know what’s about to happen in the basketball game on tv

Only way I think folks from time to time might have gained a very slight advantage through the years live betting is being at the event or being connected to someone at the event.

I always noticed at Spurs or Longhorn games, for example, my internet was always super slow likely because there were so many folks in one place using the same towers.

Who knows if it actually works long term. I think it would have to be someone who tries to gain an edge by attending obscure tennis matches, etc. but it’s the kind of pattern that I’m sure would be noticed by the books.

Books all use the same feed. Game locks when something happens in real time. Some leagues are even further delayed. France games lock a good 30-40 seconds before you see what happens on TV. Most leagues 20 seconds.

Guy didn’t realize what you see on TV isn’t what’s happening in real life. What you see is what happened 30 seconds ago. Books pay for a service that monitors real time action and locks the game.

Even if you somehow managed to outsmart live betting markets (you won’t) - your never going to get paid.

Try picking 8 or 10 winners for anything more than peanuts - book is immediately going to flag your action and conduct an “investigation” into your bets - by investigation I mean 90 days of sitting around before telling you to pound sand end never return.

There’s a reason the big books are big and the ones who were slow to adapt/keep up are long gone.

There a few legal books that grade action before something gets overturned. Goal scored in the first half to make game 2-0. You have over 1.5 first half. There’s about a ten second window where the live line is posted again counting the goal. As soon as that happens the over 1.5 is graded. After that initial ten seconds the game is always locked again just in case it’s overturned. It’s overturned, you already got paid. It takes some books hours to re adjust your balance to remove the winnings. If you try to withdrawal or bey it will let you but then your account is locked. They’re always going to get their money back. I never bet with those funds until I know it’s a winner. I’ve even had to go on live chat and tell them deduct this from my account.
