Tiger Woods’s golf course design is unremarkable, offering one of the PGA Tour’s easier challenges.

With wide fairways and large greens, the new PGA Tour event has been a birdie fest for the past two years. And although distance off the tee is expected to help, 2023 and 2024 data show little advantage for longer hitters on tour.

It Would Make You Mad to Miss Max

The 30-year-old Oklahoman made his debut at this event in 2023, finishing 31st in the middle of a string of poor results. McGreevy lost his playing privileges that season and returned to the Korn Ferry Tour.

Last year, he performed consistently on the feeder tour and earned promotion for the 2025 season.

McGreevy has demonstrated considerable progress on tour, currently ranking just within the top 100 on the money list. A strong showing in Mexico would further solidify his status for retaining his tour card next year, and it is expected that he will perform accordingly.

I mostly prefer to bet on Max McGreevy finishing in the Top 20 at BetOnline for this week’s WWT Championship, and I will also place smaller bets on him to win outright and finish in the top 10.

Can Higgo Go One Better?

Three weeks earlier, Garrick Higgo led the field by two strokes after 54 holes. Although he played a commendable final round, the young South African was overtaken at the finish by Steven Fisk’s remarkable surge on the last day.

Nonetheless, this performance represented another impressive achievement for the twenty-six-year-old and marked the middle result in a series of three consecutive top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour.

Notably, Higgo was not exhibiting his present high level of form twelve months ago, which makes his sixth-place finish here on debut particularly noteworthy.

What we do know about Higgo is that he excels at low scoring and thrives in high-birdie tournaments like this week, so consider checking out Bovada, which is offering odds of (+2500) for readers.

Can Justin Lower Go Higher Than Last Year?

Few players are as adept at going low in these glorified putting contests as Justin Lower.

Last year, the 36-year-old grinder from Ohio—known for frequently leading after the first round—had an uncharacteristic slow start but came back strong to secure a runner-up finish.

Lower enters Mexico this year in excellent form after securing third place at the Bank of Utah Championship two weeks ago. He is highly motivated to perform well and secure his tour card for 2026, especially since he has currently ranked 110th following a challenging season before his recent turnaround in Utah.

While Justin Lower may not be a leading contender for the WWT Championship title, a top 20 finish appears within reach and would support his efforts to retain playing privileges.

Consideration is warranted for a top 10 finish and first-round leader wager at the top-rated sportsbooks.
