Table of Contents

On Sunday, September 19th the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts square off at Lucas Oil Stadium for a Week 2 showdown. LA kicked off their regular season with a 34-14 victory over the Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the Colts lost 28-16 to the Seattle Seahawks. Below, we’ll take a look at the early NFL odds and the best sportsbook to bet with this week.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, September 19, 2021 – 01:00 PM EDT at Lucas Oil Stadium

The Rams entered last week at a 9-point favorite and managed to cover the spread against Chicago. As for the Colts, they were 3-point underdogs. This week, the Rams are once again favorited and the Colts are underdogs by 4 points with the over/under set at 47 ½.

The Matchup

Matthew Stafford saw his debut with his new franchise and had Rams head coach Sean McVay smiling ear to ear. The veteran quarterback kicked off the game by launching a 67-yard touchdown to Van Jefferson on just his second pass attempt. He ended the night with 321 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Carson Wentz of the Colts also debuted in Week 1 for a new team. He threw two touchdowns and finishing with a 102.0 passer rating, however, one of those touchdowns came in the final seconds. He used his running backs as his lead receivers and kept his passes short all night long, opposite of Staffords’ arm.

Along the Colts’ offensive line, left guard Quenton Nelson, center Ryan Kelly, and right guard Mark Glowinski, and right tackle Braden Smith represent some of the toughest in the league. But, this is going to be a long night for Colts’ Kelly, who missed a big chunk of training camp with an elbow injury. Jumping back into things, he’ll be tasked with facing Aaron Donald for the first time.

Prediction

Carson Wentz performed well for how much practice he missed this offseason, but he’s just not there yet in Indianapolis. It looks like Matt Stafford and the Rams already have the chemistry then need to go places. Here is my NFL pick for this game.
