We are getting towards the final rounds of the World Cup qualification stage with most teams having three or four games left on their schedule. Most groups have their foundations set and bar some strange results teams in the top two will most likely make the playoffs at least. Five of the ten groups have a battle for second place, which is the playoff spot.
We have selected some great spots for our Parlay this week and at odds of +400, we are confident we have a chance of cashing this UEFA World Cup Qualifiers’ picks.
Republic of Ireland vs. Portugal
Thursday, November 11, 2021 – 03:45 PM EST at Aviva Stadium
Ireland thought they had pulled off a miracle last time they played Portugal in the Algarve as they were holding a 1-0 lead in the 89th minute only to see the main man for Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo, step up and score in the 89th and then again in the 96th minute of extra time (literally the last play of the game) to win it for Portugal.
Portugal is in a battle with Serbia for automatic qualification from the group, whilst Ireland can’t make the World Cup and their goal, right now, is to finish above Luxembourg in 3rd place. Ireland put in a valiant effort in the Algarve and are after picking up back-to-back wins for the first time under manager Stephen Kenny in their previous two outings.
With that being said we can’t see them winning this, especially with Portugal wanting to win to keep up with Serbia, Portugal should get at least two goals here and with Cristiano Ronaldo likely to be out for blood following his clubs’ losses to Liverpool and Man City in recent weeks we think he will want to get on the scoreboard here for sure and, at -130 chalk, we believe this is incredible value for Ronaldo even if away from home.
Malta vs. Croatia
Thursday, November 11, 2021 – 03:45 PM EST at Ta’Qali National Stadium
Croatia is in a similar position as Portugal. Second in the group and in need of a win to keep pace with first place (assuming Russia wins its game). Malta is second to last in this group and only Cyprus is horribly bad. If it wasn’t for them, we would expect to see Malta in the last position.
Although it’s not usually Croatia’s style to keep scoring and, we’re pretty sure they would be happy to win this one 2-0, we just can’t see them not scoring three times here or at the very least winning and conceding one so, for us here, we’re happy to take the match to go over 2.5 at -120.
Croatia beat Cyprus 3-0 last time away from home and last time at home they beat Malta 3-0.
Italy vs. Switzerland
Friday, November 12, 2021 – 03:45 PM EST at Stadio Olimpico
This is arguably the game of the round as both Italy and Switzerland are joint leaders, at the top of Group C, with 14 points each, and are both undefeated. Luckily, for either team here if either was to lose, they wouldn’t be giving up their playoff spot for now as the team in third place is currently six points adrift.
With that being said, this is a big game for both teams as the winner will go three points clear at the top of the table and will put themselves in a prime position to gain automatic qualification to the World Cup.
The Azzuri have only lost twice in their previous forty international matches and, on home soil, we believe they will be able to pull off the win against a resilient Austrian team. The away side does have a poor record away from having and have only won five of their previous 15 away fixtures and the only significant one of those came in the Euros against France. The other four were against opposition in which they were heavily favored. No way the current Euro holders drop at home against this Austrian team.
The Austrians had their chance on home soil a few weeks ago and only managed to eke out a 0-0 draw, we see Italy winning this one 2-0 or 3-1 for our last pick at some great UEFA odds.
