PGA 2025 U.S. OPEN - Round One
Table of Contents

BMR readers cashed in last week as Kurt Kitayama came through at +3500 to win the 3M Open. This week, the PGA Tour rolls into the Wyndham Championship to kick off the FedEx Cup stretch, and our golf expert Craig Edwards is back with his top value picks.

Let’s dig in and find the best bang for your buck from top sportsbooks before you lock in those bets.

2025 Wyndham Championship

July 31 – August 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club

Course Notes

  • Sedgefield Country Club, Ross Course
  • Greensboro, North Carolina
  • Par 70, 7131 yards
  • Designed by Donald Ross in 1930
  • The Ross Course has some of the fastest Bermuda grass greens on the PGA Tour, if not the fastest.
  • Strategic test for plotters who can go low, and length off the tee is no advantage, with accuracy tee-to-green rewarded as the winners table above indicates.
  • Old-style course that has stood the test of time where experienced players have been known to flourish

Will it be third time lucky for Fitzy?

Regular readers and followers of my BMR column will know that Matt Fitzpatrick was a selection for the top 10 and outright win markets for the Scottish and British Opens.

Happily, both weeks, the thirty-year-old Englishman contended for both titles, leaving us to settle for top 10 returns and more profits each week.

His name is catching my eye once again this week, at an event he has only played on one occasion in 2018 when he finished 36th.

Seven years ago, Fitzpatrick was making his way on the DP World Tour, but he was still to make an impression on the PGA Tour, hence that was a very unusual start in America.

Fitzy’s Back in Form

Now a regular in the States, we know much more about the 2022 US Open champion, and strategic golf courses play into his strengths, and interestingly, his other win in America was the Heritage Classic of 2023, an event that shares many strong correlations and multiple players that play both events well.

As we had discussed at the Open in Great Britain, Fitzpatrick is returning to his best form after a yearlong slump, so being in contention will have sharpened this multiple winner’s game further, and perhaps this week will be the week this proven closer wins again.

Last year saw Aaron Rai won the Wyndham Championship for the first time for England. Will it be two years in succession for the British Crown?

Once again, at Bookmakers Review, we are supporting Matt Fitzpatrick, believing he can make it third time lucky at this week’s Wyndham Championship. Our trusted sportsbook, Bovada (visit our Bovada Review), offers an industry best price of (+2000) for readers.

Sedgefield fits Lucas like a Glove!

Lucas Glover, the 2023 champion, is just the experienced type of player that can flourish at the Sedgefield Country Club.

The forty-five-year-old has become more comfortable in his own skin on the PGA Tour as his career has progressed, and indeed, this year has been one of his better ones with five top 10 finishes and a FedEx Cup ranking of #28.

The shock 2009 US Open champion has a proven pedigree here along with a run of superb current form that saw back-to-back top 10s prior to the Open Championship, where he finished a hugely creditable 22nd.

This is a week when Glover’s superb approach play can excel, and the South Carolina man will be fancying his chances of an eighth PGA Tour title.

For Lucas Glover, the key is to use our tested sportsbook at Bookmakers Review to bet on Lucas Glover for a sixth top 10 of the season.
