After last week’s US Open, this week sees a signature event with a limited field of elite players, mostly suffering a hangover from the brute of a test that is Oakmont.

Our golf expert @EdwardsTips finds readers his best bets for the Travelers Championship.

PGA Travelers Championship

Thursday, June 19, 2025 – 07:30 AM EDT at TPC River Highlands

Course Notes

  • Par 70, 6835 yards
  • The track is a real contradiction with short yardage well below 7000 yards and a par 70. You would be forgiven to think that it was a disadvantage to be a longer hitter, but the roll of honour below shows different.
  • Overall, though it is a strategic test of golf with several doglegs and undulating fairways that are often surrounded by a lake on at least one side, the closing holes are a real exciting run-in between 15 and 18 with four risk-rewards holes synonymous with their designer, Pete Dye.

Harman Is A Happy Traveler

If there is one player who perennially performs well and is happy to play the Travelers Championship, it must be Brian Harman.

The diminutive 2023 Open Champion is one of the most consistent golfers. Harman is possibly the best without a win, which is better illustrated by a remarkable plethora of form with a phenomenal six Top 10 finishes in the last seven seasons and an incredible seven in the last decade.

The thirty-eight-year-old from Georgia has already won once in the 2025 season, at the Texas Open, though he must get over the exertions of last week’s US Open, where he was a little disappointing. However, on a week where there are many doubts about many players, it seems logical to trust Brian Harman’s consistency and affinity to overcome much of the field.

Bovada, one of our top-rated sportsbooks, has priced Harman at (+6000). That typically translates to a strong top-10 number, making it a lock bet for readers — followed by a smaller stake on him finally winning the Travelers Championship after a decade of contention.”

Let’s Keep It Young Again!

Readers might remember that, a couple of weeks ago at the RBC Canadian Open, my headline pick at BMR was Cameron Young asking if he could “Close the Deal?”

It might be starting to sound a little monotonous, but the twenty-eight-year-old New Yorker is worthy of our support again this week at the Travelers Championship. His Canadian Open effort was a brilliant one, as he went all out to eagle the par-5 18th only to sadly bogey and miss the sudden-death play-off by a stroke.

His interview afterwards was striking given how Young (who is not the most demonstrative sort) seemed buoyed by his play of recent weeks after a poor start to 2025, stating how he was hitting the ball to a whole new level.

Certainly, he could have been forgiven for suffering a letdown at last week’s US Open, but instead he bounced back for another strong week at a major championship, eventually finishing in 4th.

Interestingly, Young played superbly last year at TPC River Highlands, when only a poor over par opening round undermined a strong week that included a round of the magical 59 in round 3. And don’t forget that, in the Canadian Open, we profited with a top 10 winner on Cameron Young. So, once again, we are rowing heavy on that market, combined with a smaller play on him finally winning his maiden PGA Tour event.
