Pittsburgh is Back on Home Ice
It hasn’t been a good season for the Pittsburgh Penguins. They have gone 24-31-10 overall, and sitting 2nd bottom in the Eastern Conference, the Penguins also have the 2nd worst goals-against record in the entire league.
That said, the Penguins have somewhat held their own on home ice this season, having gone 14-13-5 compared to 10-18-5 on the road.
The Penguins visited Las Vegas less than a week ago, where we did a write-up with a suggested -1.5 PK line bet on Las Vegas, which duly delivered, as they claimed a 4-0 victory. Tonight, however, we are looking to take the Penguins as home underdogs.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are the deserved underdogs here. Still, we believe they could spring a surprise and pick up a win here. Not only have they been okay on home ice this season, but the Golden Knights also have a poor record in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins might be up for this game following their very recent 4-0 shutout loss to the same team.

Florida Panthers vs. Boston Bruins

Panthers Unstoppable
The Florida Panthers have been tearing up the NHL in recent games, having gone 8-2 in their last ten. They are on a six-game winning streak. Defensively, they have been rock solid, having had three shutouts in their previous four games and only allowing one goal in the other matchup.
In total, they allowed only five goals across their previous six games.
Not only are the Florida Panthers extremely dominant, but they literally just traded for one of Boston’s top-line players in Brad Marchand. Obviously, the Bruins are looking to the future with Marchand being 36 years of age, but he has been the Bruins’ 2nd-highest scorer thus far this season.
Essentially, any chance the Bruins had of picking up their first win on home ice in six games is even less likely now that the opposing team has Marchand. We are sure Marchand will be an asset to Florida, but right now, it’s the Bruins who need him more in terms of winning games.
Marchand was the captain of the team and the only remaining player on the roster from their 2011 Stanley Cup championship. It’s unlikely that Marchand will play in this matchup for Florida, given that he has a slight upper-body injury and is questionable.

- Boston has gone 0-5 in their previous five games on home ice, allowing 3.9 goals per game in that time frame.
- The Florida Panthers are 9-6 in their previous 15 NHL road games.
- The Panthers are 6-4 in their previous 10 games against Boston.
The Pick
This is a no-brainer in terms of which side we are betting on but, given it’s a road game, the Florida Panthers to win on the moneyline is too heavily juiced at -200. Yes, the stats and trends all favor the Panthers, but at the end of the day, -200 NHL betting odds is never worth laying when on the road.
