Once the Super Bowl concludes, many state that it’s “baseball season.” While games haven’t started yet, this is ultimately the time when players start to report to Spring Training to prepare for the regular season.
In addition to the regular season, the World Baseball Classic will begin in early March. Some of the best players in the league will play competitive baseball earlier this year.
That said, let’s take a look at the current World Series odds for this year’s season.
The Los Angeles Dodgers (+225) are currently the favorites to win the World Series again this year. The team continues to stock up on premium players, even though it doesn’t really need them. This year, the Dodgers added Edwin Diaz and Kyle Tucker to their roster. They’ve only improved from last year’s World Series team.
However, it’ll bring out the competitiveness from other teams. The New York Yankees (+1000), New York Mets (+1200), Seattle Mariners (+1200), Atlanta Braves (+1400), and Boston Red Sox (+1600) are other teams to watch out for this year.
The Yankees are the top team in the American League coming into the season. The team didn’t make a ton of big acquisitions this offseason, but a healthy Gerrit Cole will be massive. Plus, the Yankees were able to retain Cody Bellinger, which will keep the lineup pretty good.
On the other hand, the Mets have completely revamped their roster. The core wasn’t getting it done, so the Mets decided to go a whole new direction. On paper, you’d expect the Mets to strike out less and have some more chemistry. There’s also a lot of depth in the starting rotation, despite the Mets not going after a major starter this offseason.
The Seattle Mariners are an intriguing team, too. Cal Raleigh broke out last season. The pitching is always phenomenal, and the offense just added Brenden Donovan. They’ve struggled to reach the World Series. But they’re a competitive group. At +1200, you can’t go wrong with the Mariners.
There are still some high-level free agents on the board for MLB teams. We’re not quite at the start of the regular season, and things will change. If you think you have an idea about where a player will end up in the off-season, you can make a play on a World Series future and hope the expected value increases after the move.
The Dodgers are always going to be favorites. But the reality is, baseball is hard to predict. A team can get hot at the right time and dominate. The Blue Jays weren’t expected to make the World Series last year, and they gave it their all in a really difficult division.
Check out all the World Series odds and see if you can find any discrepancies or value before the season. There’s certainly value on the board. I think the Mariners are solid at +1200 and that the Mets will be much better this year than last. Consider those two teams at the right prices.

It’s always important to shop around when betting on futures. These types of bets will be held throughout the season, so you definitely don’t want to make a mistake this early.
