As we approach week one, the NFL’s three quarterbacks are the early favorites to win this year’s MVP award. Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson is priced up at +550 NFL MVP betting odds whilst Joe Burrow and Josh Allen are currently joint 2nd favorites at +600 MVP betting odds.
It’s been 12 years since we had an MVP winner who wasn’t a quarterback, and given the talent of QBs in the league at the moment one would have to expect we are going to have another QB winner in 2026.
The top 10 in this year’s betting market to become MVP are all quarterbacks.

NFL MVP: Players to Watch
Joe Burrow (+600) at BetOnline
Joe Burrow is one of our favorite picks to become MVP this season, with the Bengals +2000 to win the Super Bowl and their defense expected to be poor yet again, it seems Burrow and his offense will have to do a lot of scoring in order to wins games.
Last year, Burrow threw for almost five thousand yards and recorded 43 touchdowns (the most yards and TDs thrown by a quarterback last season). Burrows’ 70.6% completion rate last season was his career best, and it would have lead the league in 3 of the previous 4 years for completion rate.
We expect him to put up similar numbers this campaign and come the end of the season, we can’t see his odds being as high as +600 to pick up the MVP award. If the Bengals win games, Burrow should be in with a legitimate shout.
Burrow has featured in pre-season, throwing three TDs with a 75% completion rate.
Patrick Mahomes (+700) at BetOnline
You can’t talk about the season MVP betting with mentioning Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs QB has been awarded the MVP award in 2 of his 8 years in the league and entered last season as the MVP favorite.
Last year was the first time in Mahomes’ career that he didn’t throw for 4 thousand yards, that being said, he was only 72 yards away from hitting that mark, along with his 26 TDs.
Despite Mahomes having one of his worst seasons to date last year, he was still in the running for the award until the final few weeks of the season and eventually finished 6th in the voting. Mahomes had a depleted wide receiver core towards the back end of the season, and the Chiefs still managed to go 15-1 during the regular season.
+700 is a very fair set of odds for Mahomes to pick up this season’s award; we would happily bet him down to +500 before the season opener.
Jayden Daniels (+750) at BetOnline
Daniels might be only in his second season in the league but given how strong a start he has had it’s no surprise to see him towards the top end of the MVP betting market. Daniels opened his NFL campaign season with a 69% completion rate, threw for 3,568 yards, and 25 TDs. He also rushed for 891 yards and 6 TDs.
Daniels brought the Washington Commanders to the NFC title game last year which was very unprecedented.
He is a dual treat player and the former 2nd overall pick should be able to improve on his stats from last season, which should give him a legitimate chance of picking up this seasons MVP award.
It’s all tall order but not impossible, Mahomes picked up the award in his 2nd season, so why can’t Daniels. That said we wouldn’t go any lower than the current +750 odds available.
