Before we list the players and their accompanying MVP odds found at BetOnline, it is important to note that this is a round-robin mini-tournament featuring three teams:

These three teams will all play each other, with the teams sporting the two best records playing each other in a fourth and final championship game.
It is also important to note that each game is just 12 minutes, or the equivalent of one quarter in a regulation NBA game. It’s a new format, and one that the league’s C-suite executives are hoping will catch on and restore this event to its previous glory.

You will undoubtedly note the conspicuous absences of last year’s regular-season MVP, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry from this year’s event.
All have been sidelined due to injuries but have been replaced by Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun, San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox, and Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram.
We are not banking on these last-minute replacements to do anything more than be just another guy dishing the ball to the true elites.
Narrowing It Down
There are a few dozen choices, but we can’t bet on all of them, now can we? Therefore, we have to whittle our choices down to a precious few, and from there, we make our NBA All-Star MVP pick. I’ve got a favorite, a contender, and a popular longer shot to consider.
Favorite
Naturally, the NBA’s unicorn, Victor Wembanyama (+450), must be in the MVP conversation because he’s only 22 and is entering his third All-Star game. He scored 11 points in last year’s finale when his squad, Team Chuck, lost to Team Shaq, 41-25.
Contender
We are also considering Boston’s Jaylen Brown (+1400), who has flourished in Jayson Tatum’s absence, stepping out from under his shadow and now averaging 29.3 points per game, fourth in the league’s scoring race. Brown is undoubtedly basking in the glow of his team’s surprising record and has proven he is no longer the Celtics’ 1-B to Tatum’s 1-A stature.
Long shot
Lastly, we are going old school for what could be a sentimental choice in LeBron James (+2000). This could be the King’s final season, and if the votes are close, I would bet that the tie goes to LeBron. The living legend has won the NBA All-Star Game MVP three times during his career, with the last coming in 2018.
Those are my three choices for the NBA All-Star Game MVP picks, but I will go for the middle ground and choose Jaylen Brown to take home the hardware on Sunday.
