Live College Football picks remain a great source of profit if they are made with careful thought and sound logic. We cannot and will not let the excitement surrounding rivalry week affect the carefulness of consideration that we lend to our College Football picks week 14.

Because these are rivalry games that mean a lot to the players competing in them, we have to weigh psychological factors, in addition to the usual matchup details, when making our college football predictions this week.

College Football Picks Week 14 At-a-Glance

In this article, I will discuss my two favorite College Football picks for week 14, focusing on Ohio State vs. Michigan and Virginia Tech vs. Virginia.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines (+9.5)

Saturday, November 29, 2025 – 12:00 PM ET

Arch-rivals Ohio State and Michigan meet in another year in which Ohio State is the better overall team. Last year, the eventual national champions were 19.5-point home favorites against Michigan; nevertheless, Michigan won by three. The Wolverines enter tonight’s game having won and covered four times in a row in this matchup. In 2022 and 2021, they won as 9 and 6.5-point favorites, respectively.

Ohio State’s inability to beat Michigan is overtly psychological. Last year, the Buckeyes focused too hard on the Wolverines while they literally counted down the days until their game. This year, they are trying to focus on not focusing too heavily on this game. If that sounds complex, that’s because it is.

On defense, Michigan can replicate Texas’ ability to limit Ohio State to 14 points by pressuring its quarterback with only four rushers. Like Texas, Michigan has an elite edge rusher – Michigan’s is two-time All-Big Ten selection Derrick Moore. By only rushing four, Michigan maintains enough resources to limit Ohio State’s rush attack

Michigan’s offense has a better quarterback this year and features an elite rush attack spearheaded by Jordan Marshall with his 6.1 YPC. Aided by top-caliber run-blocking, Michigan’s rush attack ranks over 50 spots higher than any Power Four school that the Buckeyes have seen thus far.

Bet on Michigan +9.5 in the expectation that the Wolverines maintain their control over this matchup.

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Virginia Cavaliers (-11)

Saturday, November 29, 2025 – 7:oo PM ET

Virginia Tech has owned this rivalry, winning 23 of its last 25 games against Virginia, and the Cavaliers are acutely aware of this historic fact. This awareness creates a psychological hurdle for them that oddsmakers fail to account for. For example, in 2018, a Virginia team that was good enough to be favored by five at Virginia Tech surrendered a late touchdown to the Hokies that sent the game into overtime. As Virginia’s offense was approaching what felt like the inevitable game-winning touchdown, its quarterback inexplicably fumbled the ball to the great relief of Virginia Tech’s defenders. This choke epitomizes the psychological difficulty that plagues Virginia’s players in this matchup.

Match-up-wise, both of Virginia’s losses came as a consequence of the opponent’s rush attack. As NC State and Wake Forest did, Virginia Tech will be able to lean on its rush attack. The Hokies’ 25th-ranked rush offense ranks at least 20 spots higher than any ground game that Virginia has so far encountered. Like NC State and Wake Forest, the Hokies feature a quarterback who is dangerous as a runner. Moreover, running back Marcellous Hawkins is averaging 6.3 YPC.

The proneness of Virginia’s quarterback to throwing interceptions creates a negative outlook for a Cavaliers offense that will need to be clean in order to have enough possessions to win, let alone to cover the spread. In sum, wager on Virginia Tech +11.

Bet on NCAAF Week 16 Now!

We can’t wait to see Ohio State try to achieve revenge against Michigan, but the battle between Virginia and Virginia Tech promises to be similarly intense. I like the underdog in both College Football picks week 14 matchups, Michigan and Virginia Tech.
