With Week 4 in the 2025 college football season, fans will be dialed in on some great prime-time games with Florida taking on No. 4 Miami and the Big Ten battle between No. 9 Illinois and No. 19 Indiana. But let’s not forget the afternoon clash between Auburn and Oklahoma in another ranked matchup.
After looking through the player props for Week 4 at Bovada (visit our Bovada Review), we found our favorite picks for the notable transfer quarterbacks on 2 of those teams.
Carson Beck: Over 272.5 Total Passing Yards (-115) at Bovada
Florida Gators vs. Miami Hurricanes
Saturday, September 20, 2005 – 07:30 PM EDT
For a quarterback who is 27-3 as a college starter, Carson Beck has taken his share of criticism.
Beck may have thrown his first 2 interceptions of the season in last week’s 49-12 rout of South Florida, but he is still completing 79.3% of his passes with 7 touchdowns during Miami’s 3-0 start. He threw for 340 yards last week, too.
Beck has faced the Gators in each of the last 2 seasons when he was with Georgia, and he passed for 309 and 315 yards in those wins.
The Gators have played well on defense, but haven’t been challenged like this yet by an offense as capable as what Beck enters this game with at home. Look for him to light it up again and go over 272.5 passing yards.
John Mateer: Over 52.5 Total Rushing Yards (-115) at Bovada
Auburn Tigers vs. Oklahoma Sooners
Saturday, September 20, 2005 – 03:30 PM EDT
John Mateer has made a good choice in transferring from Washington State to Oklahoma, as he has the Sooners off to a solid 3-0 start in his new offense.
Mateer has thrown for at least 270 yards in each game, so you might be tempted to take the over in his passing line (252.5 yards) for this matchup that should be competitive with 3-0 teams and Oklahoma a 6.5-point home favorite.
When these teams met last year, Oklahoma quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. passed for 161 yards on 15 attempts and rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown. Granted, Hawkins was a lesser passer than Mateer is.
We’ve seen Oklahoma run him 19 times for 74 yards against Michigan in Week 2, their toughest opponent before Saturday. A similar plan could be in use this week, so we’ll go with the over 52.5 on the ground for Mateer.
