Another NCAAF season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the much-anticipated return of football than by betting on our favorite player props for Week 1?
With 136 teams competing, we’ve selected three top player props from different games. Find more bets on our NCAAF player props page, where we highlight the season’s best local derbies.
Let us get into it, starting with the biggest value pick as #1.
Katin Houser: Anytime TD (+250) at Bovada
Last season, Katin Houser got a much-needed change of scenery in Carolina after his off-season move from Michigan State.
The move opened the floodgates for Houser, with his productivity doubling in all aspects of his role as Quarterback, from passing touchdowns through to rushing touchdowns, of which he totalled four in nine starts.
Despite East Carolina being a two-touchdown underdog, the +250 odds at Bovada for a Houser touchdown still look on the generous side given the local derby nature of the clash, which can often be a leveller, making it our highest value play of week 1.
Aidan Chiles: Anytime TD (-121) at Bovada
There is anticipation in the air of the Michigan State Spartans that in his second season, Aidan Chiles will come of age, reduce the mistakes, and become hugely productive as quarterback.
Last year’s rookie season was a challenging one for Chiles, particularly at the beginning, with multiple turnovers and 11 interceptions, but the year finished with a reasonable level of optimism for the future as he reduced his error count week by week.
There is no doubt Aidan Chiles will want to start his second campaign looking more assured, and there will be no better way than landing a personal touchdown in what should be a comfortable win for the 17-point favorites.
Braylon Braxton: Anytime TD (+140) at Bovada
Braylon Braxton brings a big reputation to a struggling team, and given the local derby nature of the contest as two-touchdown underdogs, I expect them to cover with quarterback concerns on the other side.
With nerves and tension of the rivalry and new season, a tense game will also favour the underdogs, hence Braxton can get his name on the touchdown list himself.
Bovada offers odds at +140, and that’s all the encouragement we need to step in and back Braylon Braxton for the final player prop pick.
