College Football Odds for Week 9: Oct 20-26

West Weeks and Jack Pyburn of the LSU Tigers celebrate a sack against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The SEC is coming through again this week! There are three top-25 matchups on the slate, with all three games being teams from the SEC.

Only Texas A&M and Alabama are currently undefeated in the conference. After all, it feels like anyone can win the SEC this season. That said, in years past, it was always the same few teams that had a chance. Now it’s wide open!

Make sure to review all of the NCAAF odds Week 9. We’ll break down the biggest games of the slate and their odds below.

NCAAF Odds Week 9 At-a-glance

Just like last week, the SEC is taking over the headlines. There are multiple top-25 games that have a major impact on the SEC standings and College Football Playoff standings.

For example, the Ole Miss Rebels just fell to Georgia and are now 6-1 on the season. They’re a top-25 team but are listed as 4.5-point underdogs on the road against 13. Oklahoma.

Meanwhile, LSU just lost to Vanderbilt on the road. The Tigers can’t afford another loss this season, or the year will be a failure. At home, the Tigers are underdogs to the Texas A&M Aggies. That’s unheard of in Tiger Land.

These are the two games I’m paying attention to with the NCAAF odds for Week 9.

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Oklahoma Sooners (OK -4.5)

Saturday, October 25 – 12:00 PM EDT

The Oklahoma Sooners responded last week with a road win over South Carolina, 26-7. Oklahoma performed well in that game, but they’ve struggled to look apart in the SEC.

After all, Oklahoma lost a rivalry matchup to Texas in the game prior, 23-6. Arch Manning had his best game as a quarterback, which was pretty embarrassing for Oklahoma.

The defense has allowed 9.43 points per game, but the missed tackles will likely come back to bite them eventually. Don’t expect Oklahoma to get many stops on Ole Miss, either. The Ole Miss Rebels have scored 37.43 points per game this season. Even with John Mateer, Oklahoma’s offense has earned 28.71 points. Don’t be shocked if Oklahoma fails to score on each possession against Ole Miss. For this week’s matchup, the Rebels should ultimately be able to outscore Oklahoma on the road and escape with this win. The upset is looking juicy.

Texas A&M Aggies vs. LSU Tigers (LSU +2.5)

Saturday, October 25 – 7:30 PM EDT

The line movement for this game hasn’t favored LSU, even at home. But at this point, it might be worth taking a shot on the Tigers.

LSU’s defense has been great all season. It slumped against Vanderbilt, but most defenses will when going up against Diego Pavia and Vanderbilt’s explosive offense. Ultimately, linebacker Whit Weeks will likely return, and the offense showed some good things against Vanderbilt.

The Tigers couldn’t execute a touchdown multiple times, which led to the loss. The offensive line is pretty young and new and is struggling mightily. Still, LSU should be able to break tackles and make plays in the run game. If LSU can do that, the passing game will open up and work out. Garrett Nussmeier is certainly throwing the ball better now.

On the flip side, the Aggies gave up 42 points to Arkansas, which fired its head coach a couple of weeks ago. The defense started to struggle on the road, and now they’ve got to play in a much crazier environment at LSU.

Don’t be afraid to back LSU on the moneyline as small underdogs.

It’s The SEC’s World!

The two games I’m eying are Ole Miss-Oklahoma and Texas A&M-LSU. But Missouri is facing Vanderbilt in another massive SEC game.

There are also fun matchups in the Big Ten. A resurging UCLA is facing Indiana on the road. If UCLA finds a way over Indiana, the whole college football world will be up in arms! Ultimately, there are other exciting games and rivalries this week, too.
