The college football odds for Week 5 are here! We’re finally getting into the thick of the college football season, meaning we’ve got a bunch of high-quality conference games on the slate.
Since there are so many games on the slate, I decided to talk about three of the biggest games below. We’ll talk about why each game is important, what to watch for, and the current line movement as of now for each of the three biggest games of the slate.

LSU Tigers vs. Ole Miss Rebels (-2.5)

The LSU Tigers are ranked 4th in the AP Poll. However, they’re facing a very good Ole Miss team on the road this weekend.
The Ole Miss Rebels began the season with Austin Simmons under center. But he sprained his ankle, and now Trinidad Chambliss is starting. It’s likely he’ll still be the starter in this game.
Ultimately, Chambliss and Ole Miss just beat a seriously good Tulane team, 45-10. The Rebels are super dangerous, but the Tigers haven’t allowed more than 10 points in any of their first four games.
Still, LSU went from -1.5 to +2.5 since the game opened.
Oregon Ducks vs. Penn State Nittany Lions (-3.5)

The Oregon Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions are two teams that can win the Big Ten this season.
Penn State, however, hasn’t proved anything this season, as they’ve only beaten:
- Nevada
- Florida International
- Villanova
That’s nothing to write home about. Still, this team has a lot of returning talent from last year’s squad that made the College Football Playoff, including Drew Allar, the star quarterback.
Meanwhile, Oregon already added four wins this season, including a 69-3 win over Oklahoma State. The Ducks haven’t allowed more than 14 points in any game this season and have already knocked off a couple of power-4 squads.
Right now, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has 11 passing touchdowns and one interception. He will need to get the passing game going against a very good Penn State defense.
This game should be tight throughout. Though Oregon probably has the better team overall.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Georgia Bulldogs (-2.5)

Alabama and Georgia have played in some epic games over the years, including many SEC Championship games. Rarely do we see these two teams play this early in the season.
Alabama already lost a game to Florida State, 31-17. Yet, Alabama responded with massive wins over ULM and Wisconsin by a combined score of 111-14.
Now, they’re headed back to the road to take on Georgia.
Georgia escaped Tennessee a couple of weeks ago, 44-41. Additionally, this team scored just 28 points against Austin Peay earlier this season. At this point, I still think Alabama is the better team. But I’d be nervous backing Alabama, especially playing on the road against Georgia.
Ultimately, if Kalen DoBoer wants to win over the Alabama fanbase again, this is a must-win for the program. This game means a great deal to Alabama, and I believe the Crimson Tide will be well-prepared.
