It’s about to be an exciting week in college football. On the slate, there are four games between top-25 opponents. These games will start to help decide who belongs in the college football playoffs, which isn’t too far away.

There will be a couple of upsets this week. That’s a guarantee. Therefore, let’s break down the college football odds Week 12. The betting lines for all CFB games are on BMR right now!

NCAAF Odds Week 12 At-a-Glance

While there are four games between ranked opponents, the three most appealing games on the slate are Oklahoma-Alabama, Iowa-USC, and Texas-Georgia.

Below, I’ll discuss betting angles for all three games and dissect the odds for each game so you can make the best educated bets on the college football slate this weekend.

Oklahoma Sooners vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (-6.5)

Saturday, November 15 – 3:30 PM EST

Heading into this game, Alabama is a 6.5-point favorite (-120) at home.

The Oklahoma Sooners had a bye week to prepare for the Alabama Crimson Tide last week. Oklahoma has traded wins with losses over the last month and now sits at 7-2 on the season.

If that trend continues, Oklahoma is likely to lose this week.

Ultimately, Oklahoma has a great pass rush. In all, the defense has allowed just 14.11 points per game. It’s really good. But the offense might not be able to put enough points on the board. They’ve scored nearly 29 points per game, but the run blocking has been abysmal. The passing game behind John Mateer is also way overrated at this point.

Meanwhile, Alabama’s quarterback, Ty Simpson, is playing himself into the Heisman conversation. Alabama has won eight straight games after a lackluster opening game against Florida State. The Crimson Tide are dangerous, so back them for this game’s top pick.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. USC Trojans (-6.5 )

Saturday, November 15 – 3:30 PM EST

USC opened as a 6.5-point favorite against Iowa and has stayed there ever since.

Iowa lost a heartbreaker to the Oregon Ducks last week. It ended a three-game winning streak that helped Iowa get back into the top 25. Either way, Iowa proved it belongs at the top of the conference and will now take on USC on the road this weekend.

The Trojans are currently 7-2 and ranked No. 19 in the nation. They’ve won three of their last four games, including a road win over Nebraska a couple of weeks ago.

It might be hard for USC’s pass block to contain the pass rush of Iowa’s. The Hawkeyes have allowed fewer than 14 points per game and have given up only 146.67 yards per game in the air this season. USC’s offense could really struggle if the offensive line doesn’t play well.

I’ll be rocking with Iowa against the spread

Texas Longhorns vs. Georgia Bulldogs (-5.5)

Saturday, November 15 – 7:30 PM EST

Despite opening as a 6.5-point favorite, Georgia is now only a 5.5-point favorite at home.

Texas is currently 7-2 on the season. The Longhorns have had a couple of “lucky” wins in overtime. They’re likely not the 11th-best team in the nation at this time, but it doesn’t mean the Longhorns can’t win. However, the defense is good enough to help Texas win any game. The Longhorns have allowed less than 17 points per game and have given up only 78.22 yards per game on the ground this season.

Georgia has rushed for close to 200 yards per game this season. If Texas is able to keep Georgia below its average on the ground, it’ll at least stick around in this game.

Plus, Georgia’s pass rush isn’t even close to what we’re used to seeing. Arch Manning has thrown for over 300 yards in back-to-back games and has a lot more confidence. If he has time in the pocket, Texas will win.
