The College Football Playoffs Quarterfinals are set to begin on December 31st and January 1st.

Many fans and bettors were disappointed that teams like Tulane and James Madison were in the CFP first round. But after those two teams lost last week, we’ve now got four incredible matchups between Power 4 teams that “belong.”

We’ll review the odds for a few of those games. But make sure to check out the betting lines and college football odds for each CFP game and all other bowl games to find even more value.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the best games on the CFP slate below.

NCAAF Odds CFP Quarterfinals At-a-glance

The Indiana Hoosiers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas Tech Red Raiders all had bye weeks in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

Will the time off hurt these teams or help these teams? Let’s see what the oddsmakers think.

No. 5 Oregon Ducks vs. No. 4 Texas Tech Red Raiders (+1.5 -115)

The Oregon-Texas Tech game is expected to be the closest game of the four college football playoff games.

Oregon is coming off a 51-34 win over the James Madison Dukes. Ultimately, Oregon had been up by 30+ in the middle of the game and cruised to a victory. The Ducks lack an elite receiving core, but still had Donte Moore throw for over 3,000 yards this season.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech earned the Big 12 title last time out with a 34-7 victory over BYU. Texas Tech was easily the best team in the Big 12 and dominated conference play in most games. The defense allowed 142 points in 13 games. Oregon, for example, gave up 178 points in one fewer game.

That said, the odds haven’t changed since opening. The Ducks are still -1.5, and the total is still at 52.5. Oregon will likely get more hype, but Texas Tech looks better on paper in this CFP quarterfinal Orange Bowl matchup.

No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers (-6.5 -110)

The Alabama Crimson Tide have been falling early in their latest games. It happened against Auburn, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Yet, Alabama came back against Auburn and Oklahoma to earn wins.

That said, if Alabama falls to Indiana early, it’ll be nearly impossible to come back. Indiana is the only undefeated team left in college football after knocking off Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game. You can make an argument that Ohio State outplayed Indiana, but the records don’t lie.

Therefore, Indiana is -6.5 against the spread. The line hasn’t moved since opening. Meanwhile, the total has shifted from 49.5 to 48.5, knowing how bad Alabama’s offense has looked in moments over the last three games.

No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels vs. No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (-5.5 -105)

It’s a weird dynamic with Ole Miss. The Rebels defeated Tulane, and then half the coaching staff went to LSU to prepare for their new jobs. So how does anyone expect Ole Miss to pull off an upset against Georgia when the entire coaching staff isn’t even entirely bought in?

It’s not the coaching staff’s problem. It’s just the reality that the staff is under contract with LSU moving forward.

This is why Ole Miss has dropped from +6.5 to +7 against the spread heading into this game. The Rebels looked great against Tulane, but Georgia, under Kirby Smart, should take advantage of potential disconnects with Ole Miss in this one.
