Sign up bonus This type of bonus applies only when a punter signs up and/or makes its initial deposit. Generally is based on percentage (the industry norm is around 10%) and limited by both a minimum deposit requirement and a maximum amount allowable. In some cases it comes with a minimum play requirement known as "rollover" (must bet "x" times the deposit in order to cash out) and/or a "hold" requirement for the money to be left in the betting account a certain minimum amount of time. In very few occasions it can be a "no deposit required", meaning a flat amount of free money will be put in the punter account just to sign up. Reload bonus Many bookmakers offer a bonus for customers re-depositing into their accounts. The reload bonus, although similar, tends to be smaller in size than the sign up bonus and is discretionary on the part of the bookmaker. Generally is not available for punters who have withdrawn money from their accounts. Free bet (Match play) A few bookmakers offer this type of bonus. It can have various forms, but it usually means that the punter gets to bet with the money from the bonus, keeping only the winnings and not the stake. Restrictions and rollover requirements apply in all cases. Reduced juice Some bookmakers offer reduced juice on particular events as special incentive for their customers. Percentage back on losses Bookmakers offer to bettors who lose a percentage back on their net losses at the end of a period of time (anything from one month to an entire sport season). Reward program This is a way to keep long-term customers betting and coming back, incentives are given to them to stay with the same bookmaker. Referral bonus This is when someone referred by a punter opens an account and deposits funds. The referee gets either a set fee or a percentage of the deposit. The massive competition amid internet bookmakers has lead them to create more complex or uncommon forms of bonuses offered to solicit new business or re-entice inactive customers. When you choose a bookmaker, never choose on bonus alone. Remember that bonus policies vary from bookmaker to bookmaker. Make sure to read carefully the fine print and to understand the requirements that you have to fulfill before to withdraw the bonus money. Always contact the bookmaker's customer service to find out the details. |
