The Green Bay Packers have gotten off to a terrific start to the 2025 NFL season, easily defeating two playoff teams from last year, including the division rival Detroit Lions and upstart Washington Commanders.
Not only has the defense been absolutely dominant following the acquisition of former Dallas Cowboys’ stud edge rusher Micah Parsons, but Jordan Love looks back to form as well.
This team is firing on all cylinders, resulting in a major shift in Super Bowl odds, moving from an opening line of +2000 to +700, behind only the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.
Bet on the Packers to Win the Super Bowl
The Packers have all the pieces in place for a Super Bowl run. What’s most impressive about their two wins is that their defense completely shut down two of the best offenses in the NFL in the Lions and Commanders.
Detroit responded to the loss at Green Bay by putting up 52 points in Week 2, so it’s clear that this is still a high-octane offense, even without Ben Johnson calling plays.
Washington seemingly had no answer to this defense as well, in what was Jayden Daniels’ worst game as a pro so far.
Add in the fact that Love looks back to form, putting up an elite 120.0 quarterback rating through two games, and this looks like a truly dangerous team.

After that, the Packers take on the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals (without Joe Burrow), Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Carolina Panthers. This team could legitimately start the year 8-0, which could move the Super Bowl odds even more.

How the Packers Stack Up to Other Super Bowl Contenders
The biggest key for the Packers’ hopes of winning a Super Bowl is their defense. This group is good enough to slow down the Bills and Ravens, who are two of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.
Parsons and company can also slow down the Eagles and Chiefs, each of which have lethargic passing games right now.
What the Packers need is for one of the wide receivers to step up. The best bet for that is first-round rookie Matthew Golden, who has the ability to take the top off opposing defenses.
While Golden has been a complete non-factor so far, this team needs his big-play skills to emerge. I’m betting that it happens sooner than later, since Golden was the talk of camp.
It would also help if Jayden Reed and Christian Watson can eventually return from injury and rediscover their previous form. Doing so would truly make this a complete team.
