Whatever Happened To Posting Up The Big Man?

Was thinking about the Spurs choke-job last night and thinking - what happened to feeding the center in the low post? Did the league ban that? Kareem and Shaq made careers out of it. Kareem with the Skyhook, Shaq would just back you down to basically a “put-in”. Then there were excellent interior passers like Hakeem who would find the cutter, or the wide open shooter.

Seems like Wemby would be perfect for that, with his praying mantis lookin’ @$$. A lot better strategy than having him fire up 3’s from 4 feet beyond the arc…..

He can’t back down the bulkier centers, but one advantage he does have is the ability to look over everybody over the whole court. Should’ve groomed him as a post-passer instead of just a freakishly tall shooting guard…..

They are in the finals, but man! You’re up 27 on the road at halftime after a LOT of 3’s?!?! You gotta think second half getting into some kind of time draining half court offense, and that keeps the Knicks “runs” away where you’re forced to take TO’s to stop it.

Yeah, I’m Monday Morning QB’ing this, but that was just ugly all around…..
