Technology with equipment and golf balls has made many classic courses obsolete is the argument.

You can only change the courses to add distance so much.

Golf has to follow baseball's lead and impose strict limits on club technology. It would be great if they would go back to wooden woods, metal shafts, small clubheads, etc. so golfers couldn't just power their way to a birdie; sooner or later, they'll have to because courses can only get so big.

Every golfer should have to use the same, standardized ball.

I never understood how titleist or someone can come out with "our ball flies farther the others" and then it's used by some pros but not others.

The same should go for equipment, to an extent.
