You made go dig up my old spreadsheets. Looking over the sports I focus on (MLB, CFB, CBB) makes me feel like this is a waste of time. So much time spent.... so little return.

My ROI has never been better than ~5% (normally it is less). But, I have been lucky enough to finish + money in each sport (barely at times). That's a positive. The negative of it is.... my wife could care less and thinks I piss away too much time on gambling.

2022 CFB +12.4 units
2022/23 CBB +2.2 units

2023 MLB +22 units
2023 CFB +3 units
2023/24 CBB +25.5 units


I don't do a lot of NFL or Soccer (but I like them) so I don't have a tracking thead for those sports. If I did track them, I would definitely have a negative ROI in those sports.

Prior to 2022, I didn't post on BMR. Then again, no one really did so the records below from 2018 thru 2021 are not "officially" documented on a forum but I have them in my spreadsheets.

I've always tracked CFB through the years and have been solid. The worst year was this last season.
2017 - Did not bet CFB due to work
2018 CFB +20 units
2019 CFB +42 units
2020 CFB +9 units (abbreviated season - covid))
2021 CFB +16 units
2022 CFB +12.4 units
2023 CFB +3 units

I wasn't into betting MLB until 2022.

Wow 42 Units in CFB 2019 that’s impressive to say the least. Guy doesn’t officially know when the last time he lost lol. Do you know with those records and the right amount of bankroll & heavy balls you could be a professional gambler.

Guy, I’m getting old. I don’t remember last week let alone 3 years ago.

It’s not something I would have remembered anyway. I move on from season to season and don’t look back. Now, if it would have been an a$$ kicking loss for a season, I would definitely remember that but, it wasn’t. It was probably a few units or something….. Not a big deal.

I’m small time $100 plays …. Maybe a few at $500 if I feel good.
Highest ever was $5k (loss) on Texas in the World Series but I’ve talked about that already. It was a bad beat IMO.

My net return for the time put in on gambling is like $0.05/hr.
