O.J. Simpson's estate to fight $33.5M suit payout

The executor of O.J. Simpson's estate will work to prevent a payout of a $33.5 million judgment stemming from the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the families of Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman nearly 30 years ago.

My thoughts are simple - reach an agreement to give what remains of his estate to a charity. Doesn't matter which charitable groups - just split it with those in need.

Some things are pretty clear here - OJ of course had much less than he did prior to the crimes for which he was acquitted of criminally - and once he gained that acquittal - he was absolutely unable work again.

He lived on pensions and had a decent lifestyle - but nothing like he had prior to the murders. Really - how much does he have - we are talking hundreds of thousands here - not millions and certainly not 100+ million. Yea - he enjoyed a healthy income stream from those pensions - likely a few hundred thousand a year at least - but it's not like he was saving money - he maintained a fairly lavish lifestyle too.

Goldmans do not deserve anything at this point - they lost a relatively young son. It was not as if they relied on that son for an income - and the point of the civil penalties was punitive. Now that the man is dead - the point of a punitive punishment has passed. Likewise - Nichole's children were shared with OJ - taking from one parent to give to another makes zero sense when the closest relatives are shared children who are all adults.

Give the damn money to a charity and save all the arguing - of course that will never happen as the lawyers got to prove who was "right" here and take their share.
