Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers are finalizing a deal that will send two-time All-Star Pascal Siakam to Indiana, per ESPN. The Raptors will reportedly receive three first-round picks as well as Bruce Brown and Jordan Nwora in the blockbuster deal that comes three weeks ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline. The Pelicans are also involved in the trade, sending Kira Lewis Jr. to Toronto.

This is a big get for the Pacers. They needed a guy who gives them defense because none of their players other than perhaps Brown play much defense. Siakem is a two way player though and he gives them size to strengthen their front court which basically only consisted of Myles Turner and Isaiah Jackson. Overall I like the move and this will boost the Pacers playoff chances.

My NBA smart friend told me:

“Yeahh. Not too bad tho imo. Two this year will be the Pacers and Thunder pick so both 20+ in a weak ass draft. Then a 2026 first protected 1-4”

Assuming he re-signs which I believe Pacers will be able to offer him the most, good deal (and wouldn’t have done the deal if there wasn’t a huge interest to re-sign)

It's interesting that you bring up him re-signing because he said he wouldn't do that no matter which team he went to but I can see him changing his mind if this Pacers team goes to the playoffs and wins a playoff series or two. This is good up and coming team in the East so he might want to stick around.
