Luka Donic demands heckling fan be tossed at home in loss

Complete and total BS move on his part.

Demanding a fan be tossed for saying “Luka, you’re tired. Get your ass on a treadmill !!” In the 3rd quarter of a home game. If that offends you - you really need to grow up or move on from playing pro sports.

Of course doesn’t help the fan had on a Suns jersey. And the excuse given that the fan had been heckling Luka the entire first half too is weak. Look - there are PLENTY of people who think nothing screaming much worse at a player than calling out their lack of conditioning - and things like attacks on race/sexuality or families cross a line.

But we are talking a guy taunting PERFORMANCE - that comes with the territory. Doesn’t matter which team they are supporting - that’s weak demanding a fan be tossed. Worse - he says he understands and never said anything the first half because the fan paid for a ticket and had a right to be there.

So in his book - it’s ok to taunt when you have a chance to comeback in the game and shut them up. But when it’s clear you’re losing and won’t be able to answer - then it’s unacceptable and they must go. Guy wouldn’t have stood a chance in the 70s when fans truly could get rowdy at any venue.

The most overrated player in the NBA team performance doesn’t lie. He makes nobody better just a ball hog stat machine.

he just can’t make a team consistently win at all. Just mediocre his whole career.

He should just ignore it and play the game and focus on winning. Success is always the best revenge.

And when you can’t succeed - demand that be banned.

It’s just so damned weak. You sure as hell would not have seen that happening in 90s NBA. Players back then KNEW how to deal with hecklers (who could come up with much better taunts too BTW)

I am shocked at how thin skinned players are these days. Sure some fans go over the top but players (especially the big stars) have to realize they have targets on their back for being ridiculed.

If a player can't ignore a fan, they are too sensitive.

Conversely if a fan makes crude comments about a guys mother or someone who may have passed away, then toss them. But, commenting on how well the "star" is playing should be fair game.

Exactly - Artest knew how to deal with loudmouths. Strange but true - he wound up becoming friends with the fan years later.

I remember going to games in Pittsburgh and Cleveland late 80s-early 90s. Pittsburgh when the Mets would come to town was nuts the shit that would be shouted at Strawberry. Doc got it too - but they HATED Daryl.

Cleveland - just about anyone including the home team was fair game - especially when it was a day game at the old stadium past June. By that time the tribe was out of the race - there might be 6500 people in that huge as stadium and voices echoed. You yelled something / you were absolutely heard. Yankees always hated - but again the tribe was usually a bunch of past their prime vets just hanging on to stay in the game and for a check / and fans let them know what they thought.

Dave Parker routinely had batteries tossed at him from higher decks at 3 Rivers - never saw him demanding the fans be tossed. Again - playing at home you HOPE to not to have to deal with this crap - but it’s no guarantee. Look at Shaq his entire career on the road - or Christian Laetner at Duke. Those guys heard it EVERY road game from the opposition - they didn’t and pout and demand fans be tossed.
