IDK... Is Correa actually worth the 2nd highest contract in MLB (2nd to Judge)? This is getting out of hand. All of these 9, 10, 11+ year deals for $300M+ to PLAY BASEBALL.

I realize its capitalism at its finest, supply/demand, etc... but, soon, no one will be able to afford MLB tickets without making $200k/yr. SMH.

Finally, salary caps are clearly meaningless. Teams are too willing to pay the taxes on exceeding the cap and the teams receiving the money (i.e. pirates, marlins, etc..) are happy to pocket it and not invest in their teams.

We've always had the "haves" and the "have nots" and it's getting worse.

Right? I've never seen this kind of long contract. Even if you're the Goat of all Goats, your performance will change when you age.

Correa can consider this as his retirement contract.
Although Correa is good but he isn't close to ever reaching GOAT status.

Also....
Judge's contract goes until he is 39 (a ripe age in MLB) but not as bad as Correa's.
Correa's goes until he is 41.

Yes, this contract is just impossible. I mean the contract is already done but impossible to successfully execute.

To get an idea of the impact to ticket prices....
At $330M over 13 years, 81 home games per year, avg Giants attendance 30k/gm...

Each person is paying $10.50 per ticket for just Carlos Correa to watch him play one game.
