do these home tests really work? are they accurate?

i've been sick this week after traveling last weekend, think i might have Covid but the test says i don't

does a doctor have to order a Covid test for me or can i just walk into a drug store and have them do one on my request? what's the cost?

The home tests can be questionable. I tested negative at home and went to local testing downtown and was positive (last year). Maybe the tests are better now.

They are free here at public testing sites.
Call your local pharmacy. They can tell you if they do it free.

Yes I have tested positive on the at home one and then a few days later went for one at a clinic and was positive on that one as well

you can make a appointment online at CVS or Walgreens. Just Google Walgreens/CVS Covid testing and it will ask for you’re zip code and then all your information to make the appointment

i have mild sore throat, mainly it's coughing with phlegm (yellowish color) and nasal/chest congestion. a little fatigue but not extreme where i can't move around or anything

no real fever, chills, nausea, or diarrhea

maybe it's just a regular cold or bronchitis?

Are you having a hard time breathing? Sounds like a nasty cold

There has been a nasty flu bug going around East and west Coast. My wife is fit and healthy and took her a month to shake it. It went through my whole family. I got the bug at least 3 weeks ago testing negative on an at home and a lab one at Walgreens. I had blood work done this week and WBCs were around 12 so still fighting it. Bugs like this later in the year often are harder to get over. Flu season is usually fall to March.
I wish it was Covid. At least might have got some benefits out of it. Hope yours doesn't last as long. After 10 days or so it was more of an upper respiratory/sinus congestion. Started sore throat, fever, fatigue. productive cough through-out. Good to see you Roy

Covid is usually a dry cough so probably not that.

Was seeing on social media today people noticing they went 2 years without a cold here with madatory masks, and now they dropped the mandatory masks and everyone is coming down with colds and flu.

This. People can bitch all they want about masks but it did cut down on kids bringing home shit from school. Once they lifted the mask mandate here 2 months or so all hell broke loose. No one is use to any germs anymore which you can also blame on the masks. Catch 22. People are nasty. Better hand hygiene and not being around many people also a big factor during those 2 years

Last week. Daughter tested positive and got sent home from school 2 weeks ago.. Didn't take long for it to make the rounds. Double vaxed and boosted so symptoms weren't bad. Felt like a case of bad allergies. None of our kids are vaxed and my daughter could barely tell she was sick.

Home tests worked well, just ordered more, we're going to be dealing with this for awhile. Just ordered more free US Gov issued tests. May as well get them, they are available
