It's a team game, first and foremost. Therefore, Jaylen Brown deserves the MVP more than either Doncic or Jokic. Yes, because the Celtics are actually capable of beating the Thunder in a 7 game series.

SGA by a big, big margin
.....
....
Brown or Wemby
...
...
Jokic
...
Doncic

That's how I'd rank them candidates as of today.

Feels like Luka deserves a legitimate look this year

I'd personally vote for him

I'm not sure that's how it works. Because looking at box scores, and steals per game, surely SGA shouldn't be a 1/20 fav to win the award this year.

Are we forgetting something important here, like being part of (by far) the best team in the league and (by far) its most important piece?

Yessir I get it

But that’s why I why I pointed out that despite not winning it all, Jokic & Denver was still one of the best teams in the league
So those huge numbers mattered

What I didn't realize until yesterday is that Spurs are 'quietly' having a killer post-all star break stretch.
What's more relevant to the MVP discussion, they are 3-1 vs OKC this season when both Wemby and Shai played, and 4-1 overall.

Wemby deserves a good look at this award. Jokic and his Globetrotters? Nah, he got his award, they got their championship. One-and-done imho

I'd give it to Luka over Wemby (Victor is going to get his later) but they are going to give it to SGA again

But if the votes came from NBA players, SGA would not as more & more of his peers in the league are not fans of his & tired of his Free Throw Shenanigans

As long as Oklahoma wins the chip again, and starts the next season the same way it started this (and the last) season, I wouldn't bet on anyone else to win this award. Maybe Cooper Flagg if he averages 30 points a game.

For now, free throws are part of the game (as is Tush Push in the NFL) so there's no reason to b***h about it. Best player, best team.

You may be right, but sooner or later voter fatigue sets in, and they will look for any reason give it to someone else

It’s kind of like when Dwight Howard won defensive player of the year three consecutive years & should have easily won it a fourth but they gave it to Tyson freaking Chandler
