Baffert longer half hovering g around 4-1 with 10mtp. The Hall of Famer hits at like 50% here, so when you see any semblance of a decent price, gotta fire away.

Always like Mott on dirt in these “in-between distances” such as the 7 furlongs here. Horse has a good prep down-state and great back class. Getting a Hall of Famer at such long odds always helps…:

Sticking with Mott. Horse went to the lead in the prep for this, on a “good” turf track, and never looked back. Catches another “good” turf course today after some heavy rains, vs a field that’s smaller and weaker than it’s last win. Figure he goes to the lead and the rest of the field has trouble making up ground on the soft grass.

My buddy wanted me to go get him some action. He loved horse that won the travers. Didn’t have time to go to the track. family stuff today.

Feel bad. He also had the Mage-Phil’s exacta in the Derby and the 21 at 100/1 a couple years ago. He’s a good capper for a guy who bets 5-6 races a year

There’s some rumors that they are going to cancel the rest of the Saratoga meet due to all the horse deaths. Wish they would’ve cancelled after Wednesday’s card.

I got home just in time to watch the travers. My buddy asked if I saw the horse break down from the lead a couple of races ago. I’m glad I didn’t. I usually stop watching for the day when that happens. Sickening to see

Clement barn is on fire. Won a stake yesterday, won another earlier in todays card, yet is now sitting at 11-1. I’m riding the wave at this price.

They week after the Travers is the best time for the local smaller barns to get their wins. All the big money outfits are heading out of town, so I always keep an eye out for the locals this time of year. Charlton Baker fits the bill, and his barn has shown life the last 10 days or so.
