It turns out the biggest gamble at Hollywood Casino Penn National Race Course wasn’t happening on the gaming floor — it was happening inside the accounting office.

Investigators say a former bookkeeper, 53‑year‑old Jennifer Petrillo, quietly siphoned off more than $727,000 from casino accounts starting back in June 2024. The scheme allegedly involved fake accounts, bogus transactions, and checks issued to mysterious individuals and businesses.

The fraud only came to light when another employee filling in noticed the numbers didn’t add up.

Police say the stolen money didn’t stay hidden for long. According to the investigation, the funds were spent on a shopping spree that included:

- A Tesla Model 3
- Plastic surgery procedures
- Spa treatments
- LEGO purchases
- Cash App transfers
- Robinhood investments

By the time the dust settled, the casino was left with $727,446.65 in losses and several accounts showing massive negative balances.
Petrillo has been charged with multiple felonies and was arraigned in March, with bail set at $10,000. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 24.
