NFL Picks Against the Spread for Week 10: Will Sunday Be Another Dog Day Afternoon? (Archive)

Originally published on November 11, 2021

Below we pick every game against the spread and venture a guess at the final score. Let’s take a hard look at Week 10 and keep cashing our NFL picks!

So, without further ado, let’s break down some NFL odds!

Baltimore Ravens vs. Miami Dolphins

Thursday, November 11, 2021 – 08:20 PM EST at Hard Rock Stadium

The Dolphins held the Texans in check last week but that is hardly the reason why we expect them to cover this week. However, what we can say is that getting north of a touchdown head start against a Ravens team that needed overtime last week to get by the Vikings and has one of the worst pass defenses in the league should be a strong lean.

Oh, and teams coming off an overtime win, or loss, entering a TNF contest against a team that wasn’t involved in an overtime game the week before are a staggering 4-24 against the number.

Final Score Prediction: Ravens 26 – Dolphins 23

NFL Pick: Dolphins +7.5 (-108) at Heritage Sports (visit our Heritage Sports Review)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Washington Football Team

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at FedEx Field

The Bucs should be ripped and ready to roll after they have had two weeks to dwell on their 36-27 loss to the Saints. The NFL odds being circulated on this game show Tampa Bay as a 10-point road favorite but that seems a bit steep considering both their losses have come on the highway.

Oh, and they have also failed to cover the number in all four road tilts thus far. While I can’t see the WFT winning this game, I can see them keeping it within the rather generous margins and getting the cover.

Final Score Prediction: Bucs 27 – Washington 19

NFL Pick: Washington +10 (-115) at Bovada (visit our Bovada Review)

Detroit Lions vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at Heinz Field

This should be a low-scoring snoozefest that will be forgotten the moment it is over. Neither team scores much but the top sportsbooks are giving the Cats nine points and that is just too tempting to ignore.

Pittsburgh has not won a game this season by more than eight points and although the Lions are dreadful, even they can hang with all those points.

Final Score Prediction: Steelers 19 – Lions 13

NFL Pick: Lions +9 (-115) at YouWager (visit our YouWager Review)

New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at Nissan Stadium

Statistically, the Saints defend the run better than anyone, including the stalwart Bucs run-stop unit, and the Titans will be without their best running back, Derrick Henry. This will turn Tennessee into a one-trick passing pony. That won’t work against the Saints as the Titans will be a one-dimensional offense on Sunday.

New Orleans took the Falcons too lightly last week and it cost them. The Saints won’t get fooled again as they not only cover but win this one outright.

Final Score Prediction: Saints 27 – Titans 23

NFL Pick: Saints +3 (-120) at Intertops (visit our Intertops Review)

Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at AT&T Stadium

People will have to swallow hard to bet the Cowboys in this spot after their miserable performance last week against the Broncos. Dak Prescott struggled mightily in his first game back but everyone has an off-day, and last Sunday it just so happened that the entire Cowboys team had one.

Meanwhile, the Falcons shocked the Saints and if you combine those two forces you will see that the public will be betting Atlanta, thereby giving us, a slightly better number on Dallas had they won and the Falcons lost last week. See how easy that was? Watch Prescott return with a vengeance.

Final Score Prediction: Cowboys 36 – Falcons 23

NFL Pick: Cowboys -9 (-107) at Intertops

Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at Gillette Stadium

The Browns’ offense looked quite potent last week in their 41-16 destruction of the Bengals while the Patriots just keep chuggin’ along, suddenly riding a three-game winning streak. Something has to give and the determining factor could be Mac Jones tossing the shorter routes that he was connecting on early in the season versus what he’s done lately.

What’s that you ask? Well, we’re talking about trying to stretch the field without a wide receiver capable of stretching it along with him. Nelson Agholor was supposed to be that guy – he’s not. This is one game I wouldn’t bet with your money but if I’ve got to pick, I’ll go with the home team laying a measly point.

Final Score Prediction: Patriots 24 – Browns 22

NFL Pick: Patriots -1 (-105) at Bovada

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at MetLife Stadium

Those Bills are gonna be pretty ticked off after losing to the Jaguars last week, right? Can we get better odds if we lay -100, how about minus a thousand with Buffalo? I dabble in hyperbole because this is exactly what is running through the mind of Joe Q. Public.

Mike White should be back for the Jets and I’m sensing that the New York offense likes this kid under center more than any other, especially Zack Wilson. The books are giving the Jets a 13 point spread which is too much as far as I’m concerned, especially considering the Bills have no rushing attack to speak of now that Zack Moss is injured.

Final Score Prediction: Bills 27 – Jets 17

NFL Pick: Jets +13 (-110) at YouWager

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 01:00 PM EST at Lucas Oil Stadium

The Jaguars won their Super Bowl last week with a stunning 9-6 victory over the Bills. But think about that for a second. They kicked three field goals and still won the game. This is a team that has no offense and could have a hobbled starting quarterback with an injured ankle going this week.

I believe the Jags will still be basking in the afterglow of last week’s victory while the Colts are beating the daylights out of them this week. Oh, and Indianapolis has something the Bills didn’t have, an ace running back named Jonathan Taylor. This will be a blowout so lay it and like it.

Final Score Prediction: Colts 34 – Jaguars 12

NFL Pick: Colts -10 (-108) at Heritage Sports

Minnesotta Vikings vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 04:05 PM EST at SoFi Stadium

The Vikings might be 3-5 on the season but they have lost to some serious opponents. Think about the fact that their losses have come via the Bengals, Cardinals, Browns, Cowboys, and Ravens. None of those can be considered easy outs and if you want a little more proof that the Vikings are tougher than their record indicates, consider they have lost by an average of 3.5 points per game.

The Chargers appear to be regressing while the Vikings are due for a win. The oddsmakers have the wrong favorite here and Vikings’ fans should be looking for a Minnesota nice kind of win.

Final Score Prediction: Vikings 31 – Chargers 21

NFL Pick: Vikings +3 (-108) at Heritage Sports

Carolina Panthers vs. Arizona Cardinals

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 04:05 PM EST at State Farm Stadium

You may have missed the great debate between me and Doug Upstone in our Point/Counterpoint series this week featuring this game. Doug is fervently on the Cardinals but I believe the Panthers are getting too many points against a team whose quarterback and top receiver will either be sidelined or not operating at full capacity.

In short, the Cardinals are coming off a big win over a divisional foe and could very well be looking ahead to their game next week against another NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks. This smells like a trap game to me, and to add one last blast to my argument, the Cards are 5-14 ATS as favorites of 7.5- points or more over the last 19 such situations.

Final Score Prediction: Cardinals 24 – Panthers 17

NFL Pick: Panthers +10 (-110) at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)

Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts scrambles against the Chargers during Week 9. Mitchell Leff/Getty Images/AFP

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Denver Broncos

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 04:25 PM EST at Empower Field at Mile High

The Broncos caught a huge break last week when Dak Prescott returned much less than 100 percent. They ran the ball and didn’t have to play catchup via the air. Not so this week as Jalen Hurts will take full advantage of a depleted Denver defense and this one will be over before it gets started.

Final Score Prediction: Eagles 22 – Broncos 17

NFL Pick: Eagles +3 (-115) at Bovada

Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 04:25 PM EST at Lambeau Field

"I think there’s a possibility (of not playing), but a small possibility," Rodgers said. Let’s assume Aaron Rodgers will be back under center against another returning elite quarterback in Seattle’s Russell Wilson.

I’m not buying for a moment that Wilson is going to be 100 percent but I do know if Rodgers plays, he’ll be slinging from jump street against an anemic Seahawks pass defense. Big win for the Pack in this one.

Final Score Prediction: Packers 38 – Seahawks 26

NFL Pick: Packers -3 (-116) at BetOnline

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, November 14, 2021 - 08:20 PM EST at Allegiant Stadium

Just who are the Chiefs this year? I refuse to believe they have fallen so far and so fast. There is too much talent on that offense but the defense, yes, it could use some work. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. Call me insane, I’m betting the Chiefs.

Final Score Prediction: Chiefs 37 – Raiders 31

NFL Pick: Chiefs -2.5 (-115) at BetOnline

Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers

Monday, November 15, 2021 - 08:20 PM EST at Levi’s Stadium

The Rams were thrashed by the Titans last week and held to 16 points but Matthew Stafford was clearly not right. And although he will play on Monday night in this AFC West showdown, the 49ers can bring the heat down the middle and around the edge.

I think this is a good spot to grab the points with the home hound here.

Final Score Prediction: Rams 24 – 49ers 21

NFL Pick: 49ers +4 (-110) at Intertops
